We did not marry in the spring
But we sealed our hearts with
wedding rings
For better or worse, young or
old
You and I have bands of gold.
We did not have a marching band
To play our song throughout the
land
But we had love and touching
hearts
And souls that met and would
not part.
We did not have royal names
Both our births were much the
same
But we had our wedding scene
Where you and I were King and
Queen.
We did not have all happy years
Though both of us have shed some
tears
But we were blessed with children,
two
One of me and one of you.
You and I have had eight years
Eight years of laughter, eight
years of tears
Eight years of love and trusting
hearts
You and I will never part!
