My Broken Heart

I feel the agonizing pain
As it tears my heart apart
It seems it will never end
Living inside for eternity
Will it ever end?

Wise men say that time
Is the physician of a broken heart
But the scars that are left behind
Are there forever
For me to feel, again and again

As I travel this lonely road of life
I say prayers of hope, begging my God
Not to let the scars
Grow so tough and callous
That I can no longer feel

My faith tells me not to be afraid
His pure simple love will work with time
And together ...
Will manage to erase the pain and heal
