Feelings

Walking along a deserted beach
The sand gently shifting beneath my feet
The ocean's spray kissing my cheeks
Banishing the stress
That has been building for weeks

Kneeling in the warm sand
Scooping some into my hands
Watching as it trickles from my fingertips
Catching a glimpse
Of the sun glistening off a passing ship

Stretching out in the afternoon sun
Thinking of all the things I have done
Listening to the living waves
Letting them envelop
All the thoughts I have tried to save

Drifting with the endless tide
The sun slowly starts to hide
A tear of contentment falls from my eye
My world is filled with love
I am so blessed to be alive
