Dues

God has granted me another day
I hope I'll be able to find my way
Please open my eyes so that I may see
And help to make a better me

I learn new things everyday I live
But sometimes I take when I should give
Help me change the things I do
So I can be clean and true

My tears help cleanse away some sins
I look at what I have been
I try to take on brighter hues
Someday I will have paid my dues

The dues that each and everyone must pay
So watch what you do and say
God will come for you too soon
Be it night or it might be noon

You'll hear all that you have missed
But He'll seal it with a kiss
The kiss of death here on earth
In heaven it is only "birth"
