Dedication Of Love
These five pages within my site
"Songs Of Sara" are dedicated to a marriage that has endured for 28 years.
~ For The Love Of My Life ~ Jim
The story begins in 1967...
I was 14 years old, sitting cross-legged
on our hardwood floor in front of the television, a jar of Mom's homemade
dill pickles in front of me, when my brother came home with a new friend.
I didn't pay too much attention to them since I was caught up in the movie.
In a little while, this friend of my brother, sat next to me and introduced
himself as Jim and asked if he could have one of my pickles. (Of
course I shared some with him!)
We dated throughout High School
and on November 3, 1970 we married...
I argued with Mom about not having

As my Father and I walked arm and arm toward the alter the music being
played was
I had always wanted a Family Bible
so Mom and Dad bought us that as a wedding present. It was placed
at the alter on a table covered with my wedding satin and lace and it lay

We lived our lives and started
our family. Marriage is a constant building, breaking down and building
again. Storms assailed us frequently...followed by smooth sailing

as an anniversary gift for Jim. We were still trying to build our
family and home. Times were tough and this was all I could give.
I hope that it was enough.
This year...Twenty Eight...I thought
it appropriate to write another poem for Jim, twenty years after "You And
I"...it is called
I hope you enjoy it and that love
touches your heart and you find a "Dedication Of Love" just for you!
NOTE:
November 3, 2000 - We celebrated
our 30th Wedding Anniversary. WOW.....talk about getting old!
