I entered this world November 30, Year Of The Dragon (according to Chinese Astrology) in San Angelo, Texas.  I was the third child (the only girl) of the 4 children my parents were blessed with.  I was raised in the San Angelo and the Dallas/Fort Worth area (depending on which time in my life you look at).  My Father was a farmer/rancher in West Texas.  My Mother kept everything and everybody moving.  They gave me life, their endless wisdom, and surrounded me with their love.
I wandered, embraced in the arms of Mother Nature all my life, alone, except with the lovely creatures that surrounded me.  I could have spent days on the back of Dusty (my Father's beautiful work horse), no saddle or bridle, as he and I wandered through the pastures enjoying each other's company.  The silence was broken only by the calls of the animals that lived on the land or the wind shaking the mesquite trees.  I swam in the "Spring Hole", a spring fed creek that was crystal clear.  You could see the bedrock bottom and everything that lived in it.  My two protectors, Rusty (a silver german shepherd) and Blackie (a terrier mix), always with me.

I married my high school Sweetheart after I graduated and we now live in the Dallas/Fort Worth area.  We have been blessed with two wonderful children, a son and daughter, both graduated from high school.

I have been writing since I was a teenager.  I guess you could classify me as a "Dreamer" and a "Seeker".  I have been dreaming and searching all of my life.  I can get lost for days in a good book.  I love the DragonLance, Forgotten Realms, Sword of Truth,  Stephen King, Dean Koontz and DragonRiders Of Pern novels.  I got hooked on these novels when my son was in junior high.  He spent so much time in his room reading, being a Mother, I just had to see what type of material he was feeding his young mind and I, uh, got pulled into them also <snicker>.

After arguing with my daughter for months, I finally signed up with America On Line so that she could use the internet for her studies.  I guess she is responsible for me getting hooked on the internet <grin>.

Songs Of Sara

Over the years I have filled 4 or 5 blank journals with writings of my thoughts and poems.  Then one day I gathered all the poems together, typed them and put them in a binder.  That was how it all began.

My web site, Songs Of Sara came to life December 3, 1997 after many requests from internet friends asking me to share my non Dragon poetry.  I chose this title because of a story my Grandmother told me saying that I always sang to any that would listen.  I guess I have always been singing my songs to any who would listen, but never realized it until then.  Thank you Mamma, you were the greatest Teacher of all.

My www.SongsOfSara.com domain came to life November 3, 2000.
